Seasons, sky, light, land, water…life is always in motion! Yet these days life’s movements feel more rapid and unexpected than ever. Is that true for you too?
For the last few months, the central motion in our lives has been uprooting ourselves from our home in beloved Bellingham and following life’s subtle signs and whispers to a magical place in the light-filled Skagit Valley, called Cedar Springs. We landed here through an unimaginable series of twists and turns. We are undertaking an experiment to help make this place a habitat for humans to practice living with ourselves and the natural world in more harmonious, generative ways.
Tending the land, lodge, and farmhouse of Cedar Springs is now central to our shared mission of serving what some call the Great Turning—something we’re imagining could become a Great Blossoming here on Earth.
Come celebrate this big move with us (details below) and explore the beauty and mystery of Cedar Springs. We will be joined by our friend and creative collaborator in this endeavor, Lisa Fitzhugh. The three of us will be on hand to welcome you…and perhaps the spirit of the land will speak to you too.
You might envision hosting your own event here someday. You may be inspired to return for a personal retreat or for the couple’s weekend we are planning. Maybe there’s a project here that will elicit something you want to offer. Or perhaps you’d simply enjoy being nourished by an afternoon of nature’s stillness and human warmth.
We hope you’ll consider staying beyond our open-house hours and share a potluck meal around the fire and watch the day move into night. There will be good cheer and likely some improvised music-making too. We have instruments here to use or you can bring your own!
Even if you can’t be here in person, we hope that you’ll join us in spirit and let others know about this emergent sanctuary for humans to come into deeper rapport with ourselves, nature, and spirit.
